COVID-19 Help and Support

This page has been set up to assist those affected by the COVID-19 outbreak (Coronavirus). It is aimed at individuals who may be struggling with self-isolation or who may want to help their community, and at local businesses that are looking for advice on dealing with immediate commercial problems. 

This might range from older residents who may be missing valuable social contact and would just welcome a chat on the phone, through to small businesses or retailers who are trying to find their way through the Government’s evolving support schemes.

ROAD ‘CAPTAINS’

Most roads in East Horsley have identified ‘road captains’ who are coordinating voluntary efforts at a street level and a number of these have set up WhatsApp groups to help people stay in touch. They are generally able to offer practical help and support. Local shops offering services

A number of local shops are offering support with shopping and prescription deliveries. For example:

Horsley Post Office and Convenience Store

Roshini and Ram Rammeash have a group of trusted volunteers who can offer help to the isolated or vulnerable. They are able to collect prescriptions or shopping from a number of local shops on Station Parade and deliver them to your doorstep. You call or email your requirements and pay by card over the phone.
