Horsley Choral Society has been in existence since the 1920's, although then known as 'Horsley Glee Club'! Singing is an ageless pursuit...you are never too young or too old to join a choir and the benefits physically, mentally and socially cannot be underestimated.

HCS is a very friendly mixed voice choir of just under 70 members singing a wide variety of choral and other music at their concerts and also by invitation at local public and private events. Musical Director Val Beynon has been with the choir since 2011 and accompanist Helen Wharmby since 2015.

The choir have toured in Europe as well as regularly singing at local events. In 2012, HCS joined with three other choirs to become 'The Four Choirs' to perform Verdi's Requiem at GLive with the English Festival Orchestra. In the summer HCS often join forces for a concert with Oxshott Choral Society.

HCS competes and performs each April in Leith Hill Musical Festival, one of England’s leading choral events held at Dorking Halls.  As a member choir, LHMF dictates that no auditions are permitted and so there is no pressure to ‘perform’ before you join! All the choir asks is that you can hold a tune and have a love of music.

Rehearsals run from 8 - 10pm every Monday during term time at East Horsley Village Hall. All new members of all voice parts are welcome
